Feeling confused, ashamed and turning to drink
Ok, so before you judge what I'm about to say please don't!
Right, as I kind of live on my own at the moment and have a house to myslef an old friend rang me up last night (for those that know it was Craig... yes Katie... that Craig)... so what did he want? Well... he needed somewhere he needed a bed for a few hours where nobody would disturb him in whatever he was doing. Ok.. so he wanted somewhere he could shag someone... his house is allways full of people and the other person still lives with his parents...
So.. being the kind soul that I am let him come use my room for a few hours... when I saw the other party I could see why he was so desprate to find somewhere... my god he was fit! And my "rent" for the few hours... I got a crate of lager... I dunno now why I feel bad about renting my rom out... was I stupid to do it? Who knows...
One god thing though is that it meant I tidied the house up a bit... so it does look better... though still looks full! In the process of tidying up I did find the half bottle of Grappa that I brought back from Italy... actually it was a full bottle that I brought back but it's now not full. How come alcohol has lasted so long in my clutches? Well... it's bloody foul! I've tried it with all sorts of mixers and its still foul! My brothers have tried to use it as fuel in a stove but it doesn't burn well!
After a small quantity of lager... ok 5 cans... I turned back to the kitchen to see what I had... not being one to waste alcohl I need to find something it tastes good with....

After a bit of playing I came up with the above drink... it's all the above materials in the glass on the end... resulting in a kind of bluey green mixture containing a can of Fosters and a shot each from the bottles... so far it tastes ok... and looks a nice colour too..
Anyhow.. chips are nearly cooked so I'm off to make a chip buttie!

Merry Christmas
Today is christmas day... yep... I'm on the compter - well the laptop while sat surrounded by presents in the Front Room! Got loads of great stuff... including some tat from Katie... which made me laugh... though I'm not going to put a bleeding pink poodle nodding dog in my car though! Sorry!
Lots of great presents from parents and family - don't need to buy smellies for a while now though... saves me some pennies later in the year!
Anyway.... suppose I ought to get back to presents and stuff now though... can't be too unsotiable - parents in kitchen sorting dinner out... mathews moaning cos me and robert have laptops and he's laying on sofa playing with his preents while me and robert play with laptops!
--
Current Mood – WOOO!
Current Music – Gorden Ramsay n the radio... talking about cooking christmas dinner... boring!
Current Drink – Noting at the moment... but might go make a coffeee

Show week, holiday & Christmas
Ok, so once again I find myself apologising to you all for keping you out of the loop of my life since the lat blog I made. I've been busy - honest! No really I have. In fact I should still be busy now but I'm at the parents house sittin... well matthew sitting really as parents have gone to work so I'm here just in case matthew needs anything. Just waiting for Mum to come home so I can go into work and take all of Bens hire kit off the rig so I can return it to him this afternoon.
As promised in a previous post I'm posting some pictures here from the show.. well.. some from the show and some just of the set and my lighting. This is the first show that I have designed, rigged and operated the lighting for that I have actually been proud of. Yes, I did all the work for Grease in February but I wasn't as proud of that as I am of this one - I don't know what it is but I just think that for grease I kind of just threw sme lights on and hoped for the best - this time I actually sat down and thought about it. I think this is probaboy down to the fact that the only thing I had to worry about sound wise was 3 radio mics for speach and some CD's for the music. It's times like these that I like having the student crew that I have - Jack and John ae fantastic - I'm slowly getting them used to my way of working and there getting bloody good at what they do! Between the two of them they ran the music and mic's meaning I could concentrate on the lighting. Anyway... the pics...(click on the pic for more options)

So what have I been doing since last time? Mainly I've been doing stuff for the school show... lot's of late nights and the same mornings as usual so by saturday I was rather knackerd. Maybe that had something to do with going out with work after the show in Leeds on Friday night! Bit of a damp squib of a night for the aftershow party really - we finished the show and went into leeds. I was staying the night at Matt's so drove to his, followed by my boss who gave me a lift from Matt's to wherever we went out. Matt joined us later (which caused some interested looks). Not everyone at work (outside of the Drama department) knew I'm Gay... well they do now! I never thought when I invited Matt out but it was all good! The night was a bit pants - matt went home early as he felt a bit out of place.. I tried to convince him otherwise but it didn't work. After that I didn't seem to enjoy the night so called it a night myself after having the one drink in the Wardrobe and walked onto matts.
Single duvet, two people and a cold radiator doesn't make for a good nights sleep....
Maybe more updating later but now I'm bored of typing so this will have to do for now...

Matthew
Right then..
Quick update on Matthew. He' now out of surgery after going in around half three and coming out just after 8! WOW! Long operation. Not seen him yet but just spoken with mother. He was still out of it from the anasthetic but was back on ward when they left him. Doesn't sound like he will be home this side of the weekend though.
I'm going to go visit him tomorrow afternoon between work and the show so will know more tomorrow.
I would write more about the day and how the shows went but to be quite honest I can't be bothered at the moment cos I'm knackerd!
All I will say though is that they went well and the audienced loved it... YAY!
I'l try post some pics tomorrow of the set and the show cos It looks bloody good especially with the hazer and mirrorball and starcloth going!
Anyway... time for bed!

Show Week and Broken Legs
Ok, so this week is show week at work - all the hard work and extra hours that have been put in by all staff concerned is now coming to fruition. The technical rehearsal, while being long and boring on Sunday went pretty well... it's not all that complicated a show really but is using quite a lot of kit. And is looking quite good if I do say so myself! Must remember to take some pictures... ok... by that I mean take some and post them here for thise who know me will know I'll be taking pictures anyhow!
Bit of fun at work today explining away a kids comment at work. I gave a few kids a lift home after the technical rehearsal. In my car I happened to have a load of balls... you guessed itone of the witty kids decided to say that he'd been playing with my balls on the way home... could have been a bit dodgy but didn't really take that much explaining away!
Todays dress rehearsal went really well... i'm loving the star cloth and hazer I've hired in!
Now onto the broken leg.... on way upto meeting tonight gets call from dad to say that Matthew has broken his leg and was in A&E! Oops! Just got of phone to mum... turns out he was trying to beat her down the steps and climbed over banister. Mums tried to pull his jeans down while he was doin it and he's ended up falling. Dad took them both to the hospital as it was obvious somethinbg was broken. Turns out he's broken it in three places... one of them a twisted break. He's going into surgery tomorrow to pin it and repair it. From what mum was saying he could be in surgery for about 4 hours. Also sounds like he could be in till monday at the earliest.
Will post more when I know... for now I need to get some sleep... 3 shows to do tomorrow....

Rollocks of the none rowing kind beginning with B....
Ok.. soo a bit of an update on the whole what's happening in my little world then..
The weekend was spent trying to get rid of a cold I seem to have picked up along the way (I blame it on Monday night personally!).. that and sleeping... I don't think the number of late nights I had over the week prior did me any good... probably made my Man Flu (aka cold... see I do recognise it's not real flu!) worse than it was. The show this week went pretty well... but got in the way of the weekend... not that I can complain too much as I need the money - I thinkI've parted with everything I dare part with on ebay now... I seiously considered selling my projector and camera (yes it is that bad!). It wouldn't be as bad if the bloody bank didn't keep charging me when I have no money... "we are sorry to say that there wasn't enough money in your account to pay XYZ so we have paid it anyay and charged you an extortionate fee for the privelege... please note that this now means your acount is over its agreed overdraft limit and as such charges will be raised in accordance with notified terms and condition!" ARG!
Anyhow... on the car front I've now got mine back... yet i've still got the other one! They tried to ring me earlier on to fin out where I wanted it to go... well I couldn't answer as I was busy at work so they left a voicemail for me to ring back.. which I forgot to do as I was so busy at work... it's show week next week so I'm busy getting ready for it. I even got so engrossed in what I was doing that I didn't realise it was quarter past three when I left. Oops! I'll not put in in as overtime though cos it was my choice... Did some shopping on the way home from work for food and stuff so didn't gt in till just after 5... as i was drivng down my road a car looking incredibly like mine went past on the back of a lorry... turned round at the end of the road and drove back just as I was getting through my door... timing or what. It appears then they in me not calling them back they decided to just bring it to my home address anyhwow... who knows what they would have done had I not have been in!
So what is it with my car then? It's a theoretical write off in that it would cost them more to repair than it's worth... so by not repairing t or writng it off I've got to keep the car and not pay the excess... which is a bit weight off the old mind! It does mean that I have a dinked and scratched car tho..
Guy that brought it asked where I wanted it as it was a none runner... "WHAT" says I! It was running when the guy who collected it drove it onto the back of the truck! Major panic! Man says it could just be the battery... but when I got in the car to steer it down off the truck all the things that work off the battery worked so it wasn't that! "Don't supose it's got an imobilser does it?" asketh the man... well yeah.. "OH..wanna try disable it for me then?"
Wadda ya know... starts first time.... GRR! He got me all woried cos he didn't know that it had an imobiser!
So... then I decided that I didn't want to leave both cars out the front till I get rid of the other... so thinking I take it up to parents and leave mine there... cue lots of faffing around... and me scratching the car even more.... lets just say I won't be trying to park it at back of parents over christmas... well I won't try it in the dark again :( didn't want to let parents see the damage I'd now done to car so gave it up as a bad job... reversed it back onto path.. getting it stuck in the process... got it free and covered my tracks... well.. used the watering can to wash tyre tracks of patio.... then came home...
Let's just say I'm fed up now... waiting till morning to see how bad the scratches look and prob get some stuff to paint over them with... well pissed off!
It was really weird driving my car again.. hadn't realised how much bigger the yaris is.... that and power steering... nice breaks... higher seat... damn... I want a newer car... maybe then I would be more careful with it? I do now have a plan though... have it serviced and overhauled over christmas (when I don't need to drive to work) then run it into the ground... while saving up for either the deposit on a new(er) one on finance just buy one outright...
Anyway... waffled on enough for now.. need to get back to work for the evening...
